Verity climbs the vines growing up the wall of the house rapidly as she tries to escape her current prey. He jumps up the ladder parallel to the vines and climbs it rapidly. He leaps from the ladder and captures a vine, swinging himself towards Verity.
They both fall towards the floor and Verity escapes his grasp and flees the monster.
Who or what was that and WHY are they chasing me? I've lived at peace in this house for years. My mother passed away in this house as did her mother. Am I next? Is it my time? Is this house ready for another generation?
The next morning, Verity awakes and starts her research, worried about what she will discover. She heads to the local library to read past news articles for Baten, Ireland. The local librarian seems to notice Verity and recognizes her face but doesn't say anything to Verity. After an hour of looking through the news clippings for the past 20 years of Baten, nothing. No real information to go on. Verity then sees the librarian and makes her way over to ask about the prior year's articles.
