COVID Sucks

I've finally felt the effects of COVID on a personal level. Jose passed away after being in the hospital with COVID. He was on life support and had a 50%/50% chance of living.

He passed yesterday. Brian was so upset. SO broken-hearted. I wanted to be there for him. I hope I was. I hope he can feel like he can talk to me. I know I don't know Jose like he did, but my heart breaks because his heart is breaking. I can't imagine the hurt and pain of losing such a good friend. I pray for Jose and his soul--may he rest in peace.

COVID sucks. UGH! Why?! He had kids. He has an awesome wife. He was a great guy. Are you kidding me?! I can't image the hurt and pain and the amount of isolation she will feel for a while. Those times are hard. So difficult. Ugh. Ugh.

He also wasn't vaccinated from what I understand. He had his own thoughts on that as well. I wonder what that thought process was.

Christine is on her way over. We're going to make food together tonight. We are making pulled BBQ Chicken, roasted green beans, and sauteed shallots. I'm excited. It sounds yummy. It's not chili. 🙄

She's here. Talk later.

Yesterday evening was Jose's memorial service at Martinez Funeral Home. That was difficult. I didn't know him the way that Brian or the way that everyone else in there did. I was simply an observer if you will. I saw the impact he had on people. He was a great guy. I could see it. I could feel it. I saw it in his eyes in the pictures. God, I know he's with you know. His soul is yours to do with what you will. As his wife, Suzy, said on Facebook....he would say "it is what it is" and then she mentioned that she always hated that phrase. I chuckled inside because I get the sentiment. I thought that it was funny. There was even a photo with all of them together in the service. They were close. I felt and still feel so bad....it was hard to be a part of. It's been so long since I've been a part of anyone's services.
